Hello are you?

I was sitting on my own in Rainy Hall (the guys I was with had started lunch before me, so left before me) when I guy sat beside me and asked "hello, are you Brodie?" A bit startled and surprised I replied, "er, um yes...and how do you know who I am?" "Oh" he replied, " I recognize you from your photo on your blog".

I'd like to say that we had a deep and meaningful conversation and are now life long friends, but given that I'd eating my lunch and had stuff to do for my German class, we exchanged pleasantries and I left. (If the young man in question reads this then I apologies for leaving so quickly. Please say hello again).

Is Rob Bell really Mr Bennet?

Is it just me or does Mr Bennet from Hero's look spookily like Rob Bell? Judge for yourself (although more recent images of Bell in the most recent Nooma's give a more striking resemblance).

Knox, Knox, who's there?

"Knox, Knox, who's there?"

Ah it's John Knox, standing in the quadrangle of New College. He used to stand proudly on the Royal Mile outside St Gilies cathedral, but he got moved, and while New College is perhaps as good a place as any for him to stand it does mean he's a little hidden away.

Perhaps this is a parable for Scotland's relationship to Christianity, the church or the bible. "We" don't mind it still being there so long as it's not out in the public sphere but his hidden away in the religious quadrangle.
