That Hideous Man

To call others to a discipleship more costly than your own is hypocrisy. Before others will pick up the cross they must first see us climb our hill with it.

That Hideous Man - sorry for being obtuse but I don't get your comment. Are you simply making a statement or are you saying that there's hypocrisy in what I've written?

good thought man..posts like this are becoming very rare these days

That Hideous Man

Oh, sorry for being unclear - I was agreeing with you (or trying to anyway!)

The proper English would have been to say, "than one's own" (which would have made it clear that I wasn't pointing at 'you') but "one's" sounds a tad pretentious and archaic!

What I was hoping to say was that the ethical line you take makes discipleship for gay people a path of crucifixion. This can only be credible if it comes from people who themselves are living observably cruciform lives.

Is that better?

I recently read a good post dealing with this topic and thought I would share it with you:

Good stuff!! Just like Paul said, I must be everything to everybody. Difficult to do.

That Hideous Man - thanks for clearing up any confusion.

brodie

Jason - thanks for your comment and the link.

brodie

Kurt - Difficult to do - in this you've hit the nail on the head so to speak.
