Paul

so true, the last 7 dying words of the church will be 'we never tried it that way before...' how do we move beyond being preservers of the past to radical change agents of kingdom of God at work now?

I think we need both a theology of mediation and of immediacy - the suffering servent of God who we can learn across the traditions of the church and infuse that into the new things of God...

Good point on the IPOD gen - and the power of the consuming dominated religion that often drives people down this path - i wonder what liberation would look like from that? It makes me think where i live in London that it would be more of a miracle for someone to change their diary than for someone to be raised from the dead...

Paul - thanks for the comment. Interesting point on people changing their diary. Rodney Clapp - author of A Peculiar People, states that when friends have to check their diary to meet up with each other then we've lost all sence of real community!

Paul

or maybe we've lost a sense of margin and try and cram too much into our lives, so the whole sheet of paper is covered in writing?
