the Jesus Creed blog by Scott McKnight is not one of my regular blog reads, but from time to time I'll drop in to see what's going on.
Scott had an interesting wee post on Romans 5 and Government. My thoughts on this were that while there is an abundance of political theologies there seems to be a lack to good contemporary theologies of politics that take into account our post-Constantinian context and the nature of globalization.
Staying on a political theme, I know many people who think that the late John Smith MP was the best Labour Prime Minister we never had. My prediction is that Gordon Brown will be the next best Labour Prime Minister we never have. Indeed I have my doubts that Mr Brown will even fulfill his ambition to be leader of the Labour Party, but alas time may prove me wrong.
Staying with the Smith family, did you know that John's sister is a talented artist? You can view some of her work Here. I guess her style is not to everyone's liking, but I like it and as Alison is her nice (Mary is married to Alison's uncle) we are fortunate to have one of her paintings in our hallway.
