Five Things

Fernando has tagged me in one of the many Five Things meme's that are doing the rounds. I did one the other day there, so here are 5 more things you may not know about me;

(1) as a teenager I wanted to be a TV camera man for Sandy Gall. He did a lot of reporting from Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion and the mix of traveling somewhere remote and dangerous was very appealing to me.

(2) I should be dead! Well that's what my uncle thought. He's an electrician and as a three year old I grabbed hold of an electric fire. In his opinion the current should have killed me. Since then I've mistakenly stuck my finger in a live light socket, much to my brothers amusement, made a keyboard stand and amp live and touched the two thus becoming the "wire".

(3) I was brought up in a household where rock and pop music were viewed as bad. I used to get a note from my Mum & Dad to excuse me from school dances and disco's.

(4) I was the Renfrewshire Schools Long Distance Sea Kayak Champion. I can't remember what year it was...but let's just say it was not yesterday. I was given the opportunity to train as a Sea Kayak instructor but it clashed with a Street Evangelism Team I was involved in so I did not take the offer up. Looking back I regret this now, but at the time it seemed like the right thing to do.

(5) I get very stressed at the thought of being late for something. Given the choice of being one hour early or five minuets late then I'll choose to be one hour early. It's clearly irrational, but hey it's the way I'm wired!
